The Weesgerus Holiday Resort was established in the early eighties as part of the vision of the Council for the Widows and Orphans Fund of the SA Police. The idea was to offer an affordable holiday destination to members of the SA Police and provide a longterm investment for the Widows and Orphans Fund. The resort was officially opened on 22 November 1988. The resort is proud of the fact that it is totally self-sufficient and is able to provide an income to the Widows and Orphans Fund in support of all the widows and orphans of police members who belonged to the fund.

ACCOMMODATION

The best way to experience the bushveld atmosphere of the Weesgerus Holiday Resort is to come and stay over at the resort. The following types of accommodation are available to cater for your personal needs:

CHALETS

Smartly furnished sixbed chalets, consisting of two bedrooms and comfortable sitting room, as well as four- and twobed chalets consisting of a single bedroom each. These chalets are equipped with crockery, cutlery, linen and a television set. Each chalet has its own private braai, separate from the communal facility. Two of the 87 chalets have been specially equipped to cater for physically challenged guests.

GUESTHOUSE

The resort boasts a guesthouse consisting of four en-suite rooms and excellent reception facilities which compare favourably with the best hotels in South Africa.

GUEST ROOMS

The resort has a guest room complex with six rooms, 2 beds in each withtheir own shower, toilet and wash basin. The rooms share a kitchen, familyroom/diningroom, television, patio and braai facility, making it ideal
for small family groups, young people and small conference groups.

CARAVAN STANDS
For the caravan enthusiasts the resort offers 155 modern, well planned stands, all equipped with electricity. Excellent ablution facilities complement these stands.

DAY VISITORS

The resort caters for day visitors and recently developed an area specially for this purpose. Day visitors can enjoy swimming in any one of the two swimming pools available or try fishing in the dam. The dam attracts a variety of bird species. Facilities include a kiosk, braai areas and an ablution block.
